Supporting Establishment of Start Up Businesses 90 New Start Ups that promote creative ideas: will be newly registered businesses that have creative ideas for products and services, which are currently limited or non-existent in local markets. 90 such Start Ups will be supported through a specific Grant Scheme, prior to which, a total of 100 interested persons
“Further stabilisation of Kosovo minority and majority communities in Kosovo through enhanced socio – economic support” also known as the “Socio – Project 2” , on the 25th of January has published the call for the Grants Scheme “Women in Business and Young Entrepreneurs”.
This Scheme has been implemented through the Project’s 3rd Component the sole purpose of which is about Supporting the Establishment of Start-Up Businesses.
This component supports 90 New Start Ups that promote creative ideas. These businesses will be newly registered ones which have creative ideas for products and services, and which are currently limited or non-existent in local markets.
This Scheme was published specifically for 6 different Municipalities in Kosovo which have previously signed Memorandums of Understanding with the Project. In addition to these 6 Municipalities, 1 one existing Municipality which is Gracanica Municipality was incorporated with the objective of Minority of inclusion in obtaining grants. These 7 Municipalities together with the total number of valid applicants are listed as follows:
Municipality of Rahovec with 6 applicants Municipality of Vushtrri with 16 applicants, Municipality of Kamenica with 4 applicants, Municipality of Mamusha with 1 applicant, Municipality of Gjakova with 34 applicants, Municipality of Elez Han with 8 applicants and Municipality of Gracanica with 21 applicants. The total number of interested participants belonging to these municipalities who have initially completed questionnaires sums up to 407. Out of these 407 participants, only 121 applications have been submitted.
After undergoing through the evaluation procedure of these applications, 31 of them have been eliminated.
As a result of a final evaluation by the Project’s Official Commission, a total of 90 applications have been accepted as valid.
These 90 applicants were later required to register their businesses and therefore complete and submit relevant documentation. Moreover, they have also undergone through an intensive mandatory training program which aims to strengthen their entrepreneurship knowledge. By the end of these trainings which some were held online, and some in-person, the applicants were required to complete and submit their own business plans.
