PREDA PLUS
In 2015 PREDA Plus Kosovo was established to further contribute in sustainable economic development process of Western Balkan countries, particularly in Kosovo, as a result of successful accomplished implementation of European Union projects, carried out by PREDA Plus of North Macedonia strengthened by partnering with ASB in Kosovo.
The goals of PREDA Plus organization for its branch in the Republic of Kosovo- PREDA Plus Kosovo are to facilitate the initiatives of the civil and private sector; provide a model for development and maintenance; to bring a faster contribution towards the integration of the Republic of Kosovo into the European Union, as part of the Balkan region. PREDA Plus Kosovo and PREDA Plus Foundation have a neutral status with a non-profit character.
PREDA Plus Foundation acts as a main hub of various resources for the donor organizations, co-funding agencies, national, regional and municipal government organizations, private sector organizations, universities and higher education Institutes, non-governmental organizations and consulting firms of the region (in North Macedonia and Western Balkan countries).
Foundation for Sustainable Economic Development – PREDA Plus is a legal subject registered in 2010, under the North Macedonian Law on Foundations and Associations. As a legal subject is a relatively new one, but its team has a great experience on more than 17 years of joint work on local and regional economic development, in North Macedonia and Western Balkan countries.
In 2013 the gained unique experience in North Macedonia was further strengthened by partnering with ASB, in order to implement the tourism project, Tour-Taste.
During this period, PREDA Plus has increased its portfolio and implements activities related to: Business Development; Good Governance; Grants Management; and Organizational Development

During the period from 2015, PREDA Plus Kosovo implemented:
1-“Socio- Economic stabilization of ethnic minority and majority communities in Kosovo” also known as “Socio-Project 1”, has been an initiative funded by Engagement Global, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of for Economic Cooperation and Development – BMZ and was implemented by Foundation for Sustainable Economic Development – PREDA Plus Kosovo in partnership with the Arbeiter Samariter Bund – ASB, Cologne, Germany.
The Project had formally started on February 1, 2017 and has been implemented till December 31, 2019, by a Team of 8 dedicated professionals, supported by ASB Kosovo Team.
The project has been implemented in 11 partner municipalities of Kosovo, and through three-year period was engaged in:
* Strengthening the capacity of start-ups, for both micro and small enterprises.
* Strengthening the capacity of business associations.
* Strengthening the capacity of farmers.
* Strengthening the capacity of agricultural associations.
* Support the creation of jobs in existing companies.
* Support small community development initiatives, in cooperation with host municipalities.
These commitments have been implemented in three interlinked, complementary components of the intervention aiming at the stabilization of the socio-economic situation of communities in Kosovo:
Component 1 – Creation of jobs and income generation opportunities (technical assistance and provision of grant based economic packages):
- “Strengthening Capacities of Start-Up’s and Micro Enterprises in Partner Municipalities” – 40 beneficiaries.
- “Strengthening capacities of Agriculture and Food Processing Start-Up’s and Micro Enterprises” -41 beneficiaries.
- “Supporting Cooperation between Existing Businesses and Cooperants” – 3 companies with 60 cooperants.
Component 2– Strengthening Capacity of Agricultural and Business Associations (technical assistance and provision of small-size grants for development purposes):
- “Increasing Capacities of Organizations that Support Entrepreneurship” – 9 beneficiary BSO’s.
- “Increasing Operational Capacities of Agricultural Organizations”- 9 beneficiary ASO’s.
Component 3 -Creation of community development opportunities (sub-granting of small community projects and assistance to larger-scale community projects) – 5 partner municipalities initiatives were selected as beneficiaries.
